A plant-based Lash Lift & Lamination System?

Relieved gif for plant-based, gentle lash lift and tint solutions and formulas.

Let me just say, I had to get on a waitlist for this product. I got an email at 11 pm that it was back in stock, ordered immediately, and by the next morning, they were completely sold out....

The lift & tint has been around for ages now, originating from the perm - yes, the one for your hair - and reformulated to be safely used on lashes and now for brow lamination. Naturally, with any hair processing, there is a risk of damage or even just a dry, brittle feeling to the hair post-treatment. But what if there was a product that actually strengthens the hair structure as used?

The process?

In step 1 , the structure of the hair is modified, allowing it to take on its new curled shape. The science: the alkaline substance used in this step breaks the disulphide bonds within the middle layer (the cortex).

In step 2 the process is neutralized, closing the cuticle and reforming the hair.

The science: a hydrogen peroxide-based solution rebalances the pH of the hair and rebonds the hair structures.

Traditional ingredients vs the new system.

TGA (ammonium thioglycolate) is what is in most lift & tint and brow lamination solutions. It's used because of how powerful it is, but because of this, it can be quite invasive. It has a faster processing time, leaving little room for error, but its strength can yield great results in thicker or more coarse hair.

Cysteamine Hydrochloride is a decarboxylated derivative of cysteine, which is the amino acid that makes up 18% of the keratin protein structure. This quality is what gives this ingredient its strong ability to increase the strength of the structure of the hair as used. Slower processing times allow for more control and less risk of damage. It is far less invasive and much more gentle, so it is especially helpful for finer hair textures. Genuine Cysteamine-based solutions are often labelled as "organic" or "plant-based" systems.

Long story short - each system has its place, but we are really seeing some innovation here with Cysteamine-based products. It's no wonder they are becoming so popular.
